My Plans? Or God’s Plan?

It’s fun to dream, isn’t it? We enjoy planning ahead to when we want to do this, or that,… until our plans crash, and our days and lives don’t turn out like we thought they will, or should, at least.

You and I dream of a lot of things; your dreams are probably different than mine, but a lot of people’s dreams are very similar.

One morning at a birthday party in Cracker Barrel, my 2 year old son spied a small rocking chair, just his size! You know the ones I’m talking about-the ones outside on the porch. They are truly adorable. But the one he wanted was already occupied, so he ran down the porch, looking for one his size, and one that was empty.

Aren’t we a lot like my son? Running through life, hoping to find the perfect dream, convinced this is what it will take to make me happy. We visualize our dream in our minds, and run from one dream to the next, hoping to find one that fits our size, or our expectations.

But, as you’ve probably experienced by now, not all our dreams come true. Some of them crash heavily to the ground, and our confidence goes down as well.

My son eventually found a rocking chair that fitted him perfectly, and that was empty, waiting for him. He rocked away happily, and would have wanted to, ever after, if Mama hadn’t intervened.

What if you knew that God has a special dream, or plan, for your life? A dream that would make you happier than anything else in the world?

God does have a dream for you, my friend. A very special one. One that fits only you. But, if you’re like me, we don’t want to wait and see what God’s dream is for me. We get in a hurry, and take matters in our own hands, and, guess what? We mess things up, don’t we?

What if we opened our heart and will to what God’s dream is for me, because He wants to give a dream to each one of us.

“For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.” Jeremiah 29:11 AMP

Wow! Doesn’t that sound exciting?

You know, I used to dream of having a house full of girls when I was younger, but, God’s plan was to give me boys. I used to dream of a spotless house, an organized home, with a place for everything, and everything in it’s place.

Well, those weren’t God’s plans for me, either. He needed to teach me lessons on humility and authenticity first.

I don’t think I really ever dreamed of writing, but, here I am, writing my first post, a little nervously somewhat, and yet, it fits perfectly.

God has a dream for you, my friend. One that fits you perfectly. Why not ask Him and let Him show you what His plan is for you?

It may feel a little uncomfortable at first, and we may feel small beside our fellow, but just as my son was content to sit in a rocking chair his size, shouldn’t we be content to sit in the rocking chair, or ‘dream’ God has picked out for us?

Blessings to you, as you discover the dream God has for you. Let me know what your dreams are, and how God worked it out in your life. I’d love to hear about it! Blessings!
